Meet our Pooler Staff:
Matt Merritt, PT, DPT
Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2011
Why did you choose Physical Therapy as your profession? It seemed to fit my personality best: allowed me to meet new people every day, utilize my interpersonal skills, integrated my love for sport, as well as provided me with an intellectual challenge.
Why WEST? West provides a family-oriented environment. Not intimidated to approach the top of the food chain or chain of command with any problems or questions that I might have.
Why should a patient choose you as their PT? I believe that I act as both an advocate for the patient as well as a knowledgeable clinician with a strong orthopedic background. Plus, my intentions are to achieve best functional outcomes while making rehab fun.
State an interesting fact about yourself: I love to mountain bike, and I’m not a big fan of chocolate!
Kathy Wills, PT, DPT, OCS
Graduated from Marquette University in 2009 with Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Why did you choose Physical Therapy as your profession? I have always been amazed with what the human body is capable of. As a physical therapist, through exercises and postures, I get to help the human body fix itself. It is incredible how much surgery or medication can often be avoided with a course of physical therapy.
Why WEST? The company makes patient care and client needs a priority. At West Rehab, I feel that business practices and company policies revolve around doing what is best for the patient. This allows me to give a patient exactly what I think they need to have less pain and to improve function.
Why should a patient choose you as their PT? I am a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. This means I have advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in orthopedic physical therapy. With this knowledge, and with a genuine interest in a patient’s own goals for therapy, I feel I can deliver efficient and effective care to each and every patient.
State one interesting fact about yourself: I played rugby in college!

Why did you choose Physical Therapy Assistant as your profession? I wanted a career that primarily focused on helping others. I wanted not only to help others, but also be able to teach them to help and heal themselves. The human body has always fascinated me; it is an amazing self-healing structure, given proper care. We are only given one body and if we correctly utilize the built in tools we already have, we can live happy, productive lives. As a PTA, my goal is to teach others how to utilize their built in tools to benefit and heal their bodies in addition to empowering people to take control of their health and happiness.
Why West Rehab? At West the patient is the highest priority, which is my highest priority. I was immediately drawn to how knowledgable and caring the therapists are. Additionally, the friendly environment is conducive to the patients recovery both physically and mentally. Neither the therapists, nor the rehab facility are intimidating or threatening; the warm welcomeness that radiates throughout West Rehab makes them an easy first choice.
Why choose me as your PTA? In addition to having over a decade of experience as a licensed therapist, one of my greatest joys is having the opportunity to assist and encourage patients to reach their highest potential and help them to enjoy the process. I love continuing to learn about the body and the methods existing to help our bodies heal and become more functional to our needs.
Meghan Moore, OTR/L
Graduated from Spring Hill College in 2009 with a Bachelor degree in Biology
Graduated from University of South Alabama in 2011 with Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy
Why did you choose occupational therapy as your profession? I love how diverse I can be as a clinician. Occupational therapy allows me to take into consideration the entire person, not just a single aspect of their health. I enjoy teaching patients how to become independent.
Why WEST? The company’s approach to business is consistent with my own professional code. I appreciate how friendly all the staff is and how quickly they will treat you like family!
Why should a patient choose you as their OT? I love meeting new people and having new experiences. My education and professional experience will assist me in treating populations that range from pediatrics to adults.
State an interesting fact about yourself: My newest hobby is photography and I have been spending a lot time learning about my new camera. I also love spending time with my husband and our two furry ‘kids’ Molly and Marta.
Brittany Hartl, Personal Trainer
Frostburg State University 2007, Exercise Science
Armstrong Atlantic State University 2012, Masters in Sports Medicine
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) 2012
Why did you choose Personal Training as your profession? I love being a personal trainer because every person that walks in presents a new challenge, and I love trying to meet that challenge each time by creating a program based on the individual’s needs and wants. The best part of my job is seeing the change in each person whether it be physical or mental!
Why WEST? The best part about working for West Rehab is being able to work alongside physical therapists. Together, we are able to work with a wide range of clients and provide the most comprehensive service!
Why should clients choose you as their personal trainer? I love teaching and educating others about the benefits of exercise and how to improve overall well being. Even with my specialty being in strength and conditioning, I am able to cater to anyone.
State an interesting fact about yourself: My favorite part of the day: When I take time for myself – to workout, which is always guaranteed to improve my attitude and outlook.
